What is Guided Autobiography (GAB)?
GAB is a process of documenting your life stories with the assistance of a trained facilitator using thematic focus and priming questions to evoke memories of events that might have been kept in the
background or even forgotten over time.
The class meets weekly over a five week period to engage in various exercises related to autobiography writing as well as to share the stories that they have written about their lives with a small group of like minded participants.
The themes covered over the five week period include:
1. The major branching points of my life
2. My family
3. My career or My life work
4. My body and health
5. My experiences and ideas about death
6. My spirituality
7. My goals and aspirations
8. Going forward with the writing
The GAB process has been well studied and shown to have the following benefits to participants:

Through a guided process – you will have the opportunity to start writing on some of life’s major themes. You will also have the opportunity to share these stories with receptive fellow participants who share the same interests.
